PURCHASE ORDER MESSAGE
Definition
A message specifying details for goods or services ordered under conditions agreed between the seller and the buyer. This message is used to place orders not to change or to cancel orders.
Principles
a. The recommended business practice is that one purchase order is placed for one delivery in one location at one time. This simplifies the processing of messages by applications and references in dispatches, invoices and purchase order change requests. This means that for each different location and/or delivery date a separate order will be used.
b. It is recommended to use only one type of order for each interchange.
c. Address data of supplier and customer are mandatory.
